My grandma died yesterday. My grandpa died several years before her and she was pretty much out of it most of the time while staying at an assisted living facility so I think that it was for the best. My family knows that she and I didn't see eye to eye on many things and there was definitely some tension between us while she was still lucid but I loved her nonetheless. I don't like posting extremely personal thoughts here so that's all I'm going to write about this.

My thoughts and sympathies are with you JBW as my mother died on Thursday. May we take comfort in knowing that their pain and suffering is over and that they rest in peace.
It is always risky to put out personal thoughts in such a public forum. It leaves you open to commentary that might not be received well.But then again your "personal thoughts" are one of only two things that you truly own and make you unique in this world. Celebrate "Life" my friend.
Sorry to hear of your momma's passing Doug E but I assume that it was for the best as well. As I believe that life is all we have, you bet your ass I'm gonna celebrate it. As always, anything you need...
My condolences to you both. And Doug I understand feeling reservations in expressing yourself in such a public forum about such a tender subject. I respect your courage. Because how can we ever really celebrate unless it all hangs-out. Right?
