A Day In The Internet
Pretty damn impressive. And I know that it's supposed to represent Mario world for the video game portion of the graphic but I do love that at some point it actually is a series of tubes.

Picture Of The Day
Best. Pun. Ever. If you don't get it you've obviously never seen this. Don't, because there are some things in this world that can never be unseen.

Picture Of The Day
A Pac-Man-shaped eye hemorrhage. This was one of the first video games I ever played on my Atari 2600 as a kid. Looking back on it now the blocky graphics and annoying sound effects were so laughable by today's video game system standards, yet I played it for hours at a time. The sad thing is that I was never really very good at it. Those ghosts got really fast after a few levels.

America! Fuck Yeah!!
This is a day late for Independence Day but I wanted to post this extended version of the song from Team America: World Police anyway. Hilarious:

Stalin vs. Martians
Apparently this is an actual video game. It's also 100%, good old fashioned, pure nihilistic entertainment:

Loss Of WiiMote Control
There's a reason they put wrist straps on these things:
Unless your momma has a time machine I think you're SOL, dude; and he's a southpaw too: typical.

Every Mortal Combat vs DC Fatality
Again, just a holiday time waster to watch during the half times. I never really played these fighting games that much as a kid but I've loved watching how gorgeous the graphics have become as computing power and programming ability have increased significantly over the course of my lifetime; I still remember getting really excited when my old man brought home Space Invaders with an Atari 2600, so you can see what kind of technological improvement I'm talking about.
My favorite part about this MC vs DC game is that the superheroes don't commit "fatalities", only "heroic brutalities": that's cause superheroes don't kill, yo! They just leap 60 feet into the air before spiking your rag doll body into a concrete slab, but the kicking at the end means that you're still amongst the living (either that or it's an autonomic nerve response but hey, who has time to check pulses these days?):

Obama's Virtual Billboards
Next time you're driving through a video game-based world, look up at the ads:
Last week we noted unconfirmed sightings of an “Obama for President” billboard in the Xbox 360 racing game Burnout Paradise. Today we’re able to report that it is, in fact, an official advertisement placed by the senator’s campaign team.Just like his notifying his supporters of his vice-presidential pick by text message, Barack Obama has been using technology in unique and creative ways to reach the ever-increasing youth vote in this country; these innovative tactics may just be what puts him over the top in November.
“I can confirm that the Obama campaign has paid for in-game advertising in Burnout,” Holly Rockwood, director of corporate communications at Electronic Arts, the game’s publisher, told me via email, noting that EA regularly allows ad placements in their online games. “Like most television, radio and print outlets, we accept advertising from credible political candidates,” she continued. “Like political spots on the television networks, these ads do not reflect the political policies of EA or the opinions of its development teams.”

Repost Classic
This video of Jean Baudin playing the Mario Brothers theme song on an 11 string bass was the fifth post to this blog and the first to include video; just a little nostalgic blogging nostalgia but I still love this:

Crime Skyrockets In Liberty City
It always did seem like a pretty dangerous place to live:
Since the surge in crime, which began on April 28 at midnight, more than 830,000 civilians have been murdered—nearly one-tenth of Liberty City's total population. In addition, 35,000 vehicles have been reported stolen, many of which were then driven illegally over sidewalks and pedestrian walkways before plunging into the nearby Humboldt River. And according to startling figures released by local community action group Citizens for a Safer City, drug trafficking has become rampant and prostitution has increased by 800 percent.Apparently some folks have been toying with the idea of moving to Raccoon City, citing enhanced security and Midwest values but I have a bad feeling about that place."I was shot 14 times on my way to work today, including twice by police," said one Algonquin-area resident. "That is unacceptable."

Video Game Pitch Meeting (1979)
When you compare the 16-bit video games I first started playing in the early 80's to the kick-ass, 3-dimensional games so readily available today, I can see why Gen-Yers and Millenials laugh so hard at parodies like this:
I love this shit. You are the frog! And you just blew my mind.
