I've seen Casino literally dozens of times and the county commissioner, while somewhat of a character, strikes me as just the sort of person I might imagine Harry Reid as being back in the day. Local. Very local...

We just saw this movie for the first time while on vacation. (Yes, we watched a movie on VHS during our last night of vacation.) Ironic that you would post about it so shortly thereafter.
I might call it more coincidental than ironic one L but as it's one of my favorite movies I'm glad you could relate.
And since you have seen it: Is it just me or did Reid's portrayal look about ten-thousand times more interesting than the actual man does in real life?
If there's ever a movie made about me I wonder how they're going to juice my persona up for the mass audience.
Reid was the Texas hillbilly with the bum nephew? I don't know anything about the man in real life, but I did think that was a decent character.
Nevada hillbilly one L, and it was a great character. In real life Reid is a Mormon and about as interesting as watching paint dry on the tabernacle.
