Deleted Scene: Luke Builds His Lightsaber

This short deleted scene from Return of the Jedi was shown at Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando over the weekend. It's not the best quality but Lucasfilm Ltd. is tearing every copy off the Internets as fast as you can say "copyright infringement" so get it while it's hot. For the fanboys, of course:

It is indeed being pulled very quickly. A nerd friend of mine sent a link to it to me 22 hours ago and already it's gone.

This would have been a fine scene. Some of the later scenes (like when Vader comments that Luke has built his own lightsabre) would have made more sense.

Instead we got a gaggle of muppets and a few wise-cracks.

If you haven't watched the two prequel reviews I linked to previously yet magpie I would definitely recommend them. The practice of Jedis supposedly constructing their own lightsabers as a rite of passage in the earlier films is specifically mentioned amongst many other rather brilliant insights.
