Remember when people were trying to get this guy to run as Dole's VP? He was smart to say no then and is smart to endorse now:
[Update: Powell is stopped outside the studio and asked if the negative tone of John McCain's campaign was a factor in his decision to endorse Barack Obama; listening to the man talk I can't imagine how he survived as long as he did in the Bush administration:

Isn't a "liberatarian-socialist" about the same as an anarchist?
Not at all; Libertarian-Socialism merely states that the government should do the things that people can not do for themselves while staying out of their personal lives as much as possible; it's bascily getting the most out of your tax dollar while living your life any way you wish (as long as it doesn't harm or constrain anyone else's own liberties).
JBW: Actually, I teach political science, and I think it's more complicated than that. If we look at a quadrant, both anarchism and liberatarianism end up near each other, with libertarianism closer to pure freedom, and anarchism gravitating toward revolutionary socialism.
But I was just curious about the usage, and if you're cool with it describing your views, no problem.
Yes, I've seen the political quadrant layout before and I see what you're saying about the location of the LS philosophy, I was just elaborating. I've been looking at your blog and reading your reviews on Ratemyprof; you seem to be a fairly amiable fellow with distinct differences in political philosophy from my own. I think we could agree to disagree on many things and still have some spirited discussions in the future; I'm looking forward to it.
You checked my ratings? God, I haven't checked those things in ages!
Yet, if I'm not so bad, why would you critcize me so hard for posting pictures of the anti-Americans back at my place.
I don't take partisanship inside the classroom. Students can read my blog, but it's not assigned, and frankly not that many do.
I just believe that protesting the actions of your government, especially as it pertains to torture and corporate bailouts, is not anti-American; it's patriotic, and it's necessary. Someone who objects to Bush's use of torture on a moral basis should not be lumped in with idiots who celebrate the WTC attacks. Leave the "moonbat" crap to Malkin, she's cornered the market on that kind of idiocy.
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT, WITH A BLACK AND A WHITE!
Wait, that old childhood chant has new meaning these days. Nice.
