Internet Intervention

Admittedly, I have never really gotten into the whole MySpace experience; I just don't care about being popular by making "friends" with strangers and I waste way too much time online as it is. That said, I still found this video about the impending decline of the site pretty funny; mainly because of the comments from the other sites. And the card at the end is the best:
You just never see it coming, do you?

I have to say on the whole myspace thing that although many have used it as medium to "collect" friends or to participate in a "popularity contest" , I have found it a good place to keep in touch with friends and family around the world. Also, It's kind of cool to express your interests and learn about the interests of others. Furthermore, I like that I can keep up with music, art or political events via the postings left by friends or organizations that I have befriended. Don't be a hatters face bookers!

I haven't watched that video. I'm video'd out for the day. I've got a quota, I can watch about 3 things on Youtube per day before I get tired-head.

Myspace is useful (for the keeping in touch) but junky. Facebook is a much cleaner interface. I don't actively do anything with either of these sites anymore and have considered closing my accounts. But being within a moment's touch of all these high school, middle school and college friends has been useful at times. I've left quite a wake of friends in my past... I feel like reconnecting with them has some sort of future good attached.

I with you. That last statement was in jest.

I know, but I really am kind of a MySpace hater; I just wasn't doing it right then.
