For the first time in my memory, we're going to have a serious contender for the presidency who will truly be able to relate to younger generations; none of that "I didn't inhale" bullshit from the Clinton years. I know I've said this before and I'm not suspending my cynical outlook, but it certainly appears that we are witnessing a turning point in American politics; the Boomers are on their way out, along with all of the generational baggage they carry with them.
The massive turnout and involvement by young people in this election is one of the side benefits of an Obama candidacy, and it does help to quell my cynicism a bit. And really, how much cooler will we be as a country once we've elected this man as our leader? I don't think I'm the only one under 40 looking forward to having a president that we can actually be proud of; for many of us, this will be a totally new sensation.

Obama certainly gives us more street cred. and raw athleticism. It's also nice that we might be able to say our 1st lady has some junk in the trunk ... and not just because she's some frumpy old grandma.
