I keep thinking to myself, thank God he didn't pick Romney. With the financial crisis that would have turned into quite a serendipitous (using big words to make up for poor spelling in my last post) move.

I know the media (those liberal whores!) have touched on it a little bit, but the Palin choice continues to put a red flashing light on McCain's judgement - but nobody seems to really notice, or at least care.

All the polls I read said that Romney would have been anathema to McCain's base, which is why he tapped Palin. And I think the media would rather fuel the horserace narrative than to completely expose her to be utterly unqualified.

So would his Republican base have simply not voted and allowed a democratic, extremist Muslim to get elected instead? This crap about not appealing to your base seems strange to me. I can understand the possible apathy in turnout, but you'd think the people voting straight-ticket would vote that way regardless of the actual presidential candidate.
