I didn't really watch these shows regularly as a kid so the nostalgia factor is low for me but what I find so striking is how weird an adult Ron Howard looks with hair:

That's why I wrote "adult"; have you been looking at this guy for the last few decades? He's in his mid-fifties and he's spent more than half his life wearing that baseball cap; in fact the only time we've seen him out from under it is at award shows, probably because his wife won't let him wear it with a tux.
Yes, I know who Opie was, I know who Richie Cunningham was and I've even seen American Graffiti (one of the most boring "classics" I've ever sat through). He's done a few things since then; watch some I Love The 80's on VH1 or something. And update your prescription, grandpa...
I watched a lot of both his shows as a kid. It is STILL weird to me to see him as a bald, old man.
