Busy, Busy, Busy...
Apologies for the lack of posting of late but the weather has been just too damn gorgeous lately to spend time indoors. It'll be rainy and crappy again this weekend so regular posting will resume then. I'll also address Don's latest shot at me then but here's an initial thought: does anyone else find it slightly Rovian for a guy with an actual beer gut to be attacking me for having a virtual one? Kind of like a Sarah Palin supporter attacking President Obama for his supposed lack of speaking abilities, huh? More later, dear readers... (see how cheesy that sounds, Don?).

KFC Is Practically Daring Me To Eat This... Ctd
Previously discussed here, it drops in less than a week. That sound you just heard was my heart slowing down in anticipation.

Obama Plays HORSE With Clark Kellogg
I'd only seen the "wap" shot from this video of President Obama playing HORSE (or POTUS, in this case) with CBS Sports college basketball analyst and former NBA player Clark Kellogg on cable news until today. I've always said that I'd like to go bar hopping with George W. Bush and cruise chicks with Bill Clinton; I'm thinking that shooting around and chatting with Barack Obama would be pretty cool too:

Something Someone Else Said II
"Recently, since the election of Barack Obama, common sense has left the Republican Party completely. We are in the era of craziness. As David Frum has written, a deal was there to be made over the healthcare bill. Instead, this ideological purity blinded the GOP. As LBJ said it, instead of being inside the tent pissing out, we choose to be outside the tent, pissing against the wind. And we got splashed by our own nonsense. Why did we do that? Well, when a political party shrinks its electoral based to below 30% and is composed by one demographic group, all that is left are a bunch of zealots. We shrank it by kicking out of the party those who believe that abortion should be legal but limited. We shrank it by kicking out those who believe that an $11 trillion economy, like ours, needs a strong government, not a government that can be drowned in a bathtub. We shrank it when we sanctified Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck, and canonized Sarah Palin. These are the leaders of my party nowadays. How did we go from William F. Buckley to Glenn Beck? How did we go from Eisenhower and Nixon to Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann? I do not know. What I do know, however, is that these leaders remind of me of the leaders of the Whig Party. And if they continue on their nonsense, they will bring the collapse of the GOP." -Chris Currey, FrumForum.

Elementary School Production Of Scarface
Yes, it's fake (it's a viral video from the director of Lady Gaga's Pokerface) but that does nothing to diminish it's amateur awesomeness. My one complaint? Tony Montana doesn't bury his face in the big pile of popcorn before he loads up to exterminate the cockaroaches:

Something Incongruous Someone Else Said
"I never considered myself a maverick." -John McCain.
???... Oh, I get it: he was only a maverick when it could help him get elected president, but now that he's running for reelection as a senator and it can't help him, he's not. Makes perfect sense. Today's Republican party doesn't want mavericks: it wants ideological rigidity. And he's right, he's not a maverick. He's a pathetic old man and a consummate politician who will say or do anything to hang on to whatever power and importance he thinks he has left in this world. This is why we need term limits in congress. Sarah Palin aside, the bullet we dodged in November 2008 is looking larger and larger.
Clip From Iron Man 2
I can't tell you how much I want to be Tony Stark:
I don't know which technology I love more: that which keeps one's tux from wrinkling within the Iron Man armor or the fact that the helmet leaves enough room to maintain a perfectly coiffed dome. Have I mentioned how much I want to be Tony Stark?

Something Someone Else Said
"One more than Sarah Palin has ever given." -Andrew Sullivan, The Daily Dish, on Tiger Woods' open press conference at the Masters golf tournament at Augusta National Golf Club today.
