In Lieu Of Original Thoughts

I love that one of the tags on this video is "genius". Personally, I think the word "genius" is used far too often in our society to the point that the value associated with it is more akin to "clever" instead of "sublime greatness". "That movie was genius." "That comic strip is genius." "That guitar riff - genius." "That blog is genius." ;)

But since, it's Tiger, and since it's the Masters, I'll agree with you this once and say that that is some genius. On his best days, he's Michelangelo with a golf club (artist not turtle).

I was just speaking with Anonymous (PK) about this over drinks last night. Just as Mozart was born to create music, Tiger was born to play this game, and both of them were lucky that their fathers recognized this inherent ability and nurtured it from youth. We agreed that there are most likely many people in the world with natural gifts like these that sadly will never have access to a golf club or musical instruments that would allow them to share their genius with the world. Turtle power, dude.

Exhibit A, right here. I know that I am truly gifted at something, I just don't know what. There've been two times that I've played Wii Tennis and displayed prodigal ability, but I think there's something more out there.

As necessary as Wii Tennis is to the planet, one would hope that you do indeed offer the promise of something more.
