So it appears that Al Franken will be the next junior senator from Minnesota but he'll still have to wait until Norm Coleman has exhausted his legal challenges before he can be sworn in and take his seat. I've always been a huge Franken fan: from when he famously declared the 1980's the "Al Franken Decade" on SNL to when he publicly called Bill O'Reilly out for being an inveterate liar at the Los Angeles Book Expo in 2003. But this short video of him and Ann Coulter commenting on which famous person they would be from history and why during a debate in Connecticut a number of years ago has to be one of my favorite Franken moments of all time:
[Update: PZ Myers over at Pharyngula also has some video of his future senator and Tom Davis doing some fairly passable imitations of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in concert from way back in the day. I love American politics.]

Good job by Franken as Jagger. Davis wasn't cadaver-like enough as Richards, tho.
